Welcome to Excel VBA - An Introduction for the Mac. This course delves into the Visual Basic which allows you to automate Microsoft Excel (and other MS Office products). Microsoft Excel is an extremely powerful tool – and yet most people only scratch the surface of what it can do.
Hello...
I am using Microsoft Excel for Mac 2011, version 14.2.3, and trying to record some simple macros to consolidate/move data. Under the developer tab, when I hit the record button, it appears that I can record and proceed with my key strokes for the actions I want to perform. After my keystrokes of moving data, I then hit the record button again to stop thinking I've recorded a macro. When I go to run my macro, nothing happens. If I then look under the Editor to see the programming for my macro I just recorded, nothing has recorded other than what I named the macro. No keystrokes appear.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

- To start automating your Excel actions with macros, you’ll need to “record” a macro. Recording a macro is how you tell Excel which steps to take when you run the macro. And while you can code a macro using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Excel also lets you record a macro by using standard commands. Let’s take a look at a basic.

Office 2016 for Mac is sandboxed
Unlike other versions of Office apps that support VBA, Office 2016 for Mac apps are sandboxed.
How To Insert Macros In Excel For Mac
Sandboxing restricts the apps from accessing resources outside the app container. This affects any add-ins or macros that involve file access or communication across processes. You can minimize the effects of sandboxing by using the new commands described in the following section.
